Starship Flight Test 5
On the 6th of June 2024, Starship 11/29 took to the sky's completing Starships' first every full successful test flight complete with a soft splashdown of both B11 and S29 but already we are looking forward to Flight 5 and when it comes to flight tests, the burning question on everyone's mind is always: when will the launch happen? It is always exciting to speculate on these kind of things so, let's dive into the key steps leading up to this much-anticipated launch and Booster catch attempt and explore the factors that could impact the big day.
Starting with Booster 12, it will require a static fire at the launch site and some final prep-flight work, possibly including upgrades from the last flight. Fortunately, the relative complexity of t…

Papercraft Starship: Update 1
Hey Guys! Just thought it would be fun to share my progress on a papercraft starship weekly!
I got the model from the excellent space paper modelling website https://axmpaperspacescalemodels.com/, he is a very enthusiastic space nerd and has models of pretty much any modern spacecraft that has flown. Originally, I made several space shuttles from him, but I realized that what I really wanted to make was Starship. He has lots of Starship models, including metallic versions for silver paper.
I went with Ship 24, as at the time it was the only ship to have flown atop a Super Heavy. Later, (or yesterday) when I printed out a booster, I went with Booster 9, as it is the most recently flown booster. I'm not super worried about 100% accuracy, as th…
My experience with IFT-2
Hey guys! Just thought I'd share my experience with the Second Integrated Flight Test, or IFT-2.
I was glad it got delayed to Saturday as viewing it on Friday would have been hard because I have school then. I also saw that it would be launching at 8-8:20. Translating that to Mountain time (where I live) is 6 in the morning. Oof. Amazingly, I woke up to my alarm at 5:50 like a kid on Christmas morning. I turned on the tv and looked through youtube at several live streams. Initially, I chose one by Everyday Astronaut (which I should have stuck with) but then switched to one from SpaceX.
To my extreme disappointment, it turned out to be a fake channel trying to scam people into giving them bitcoins and other cryptocurrency. I switched back to …
Busy week
- Ship 26 is cryo tested again.
- Ship 30 peeks out of the High bay.
- Hot stage ring is removed from the booster again.
RUD
Starship did OFT-1, but 4 mins after take off it lost control and was destroyed bye Flight Termination System
Cancelled launch
The starship almost go to orbit but it didn't even liftoff due to a frozen valve.
the starship is almost ready for orbit
We just need 33 engines full thrust static fire, and complete s24 tiles
Will the heatshield-less Starships have fins?
With the revealing that Starship S26 will (likely) not have a heat shield, that got me wondering: will S26 have fins?
The fins on the Starship design are mostly for the reentry and landing phase. Cutting them would make S26 lighter and save materials. All in all, I would say S26 would surprise me if it had fins. Looks like the next few Starships are just gonna be silver bullets.
