The High Bay was a vertical integration facility at Starbase that has been retired and demolished. Previously High Bay was responsible for all Ship work however this responsibility gradually reduced as operations transitioned to Mega Bay 2. The final ship to enter High Bay was Ship 32 (S32) for scrapping, the final ship to receive work in High Bay was Ship 34 (S34) for Nosecone and Payload Bay welding and the final fully stacked vehicle to receive work was Ship 31 (S31).

High Bay featured space for four ships: three in the back left, front right and back right for general work and one in the front left for welding on a turntable. The High Bay also featured a bar and an office area above the main work area, where a birthday party for Elon Musk supposedly happened in 2021 according to an NSF editor.

High Bay was completely demolished on 25th May, 2025 along with Stargate and Starfactory nosecone-payload exit door extension. The area of the three facilities are now being used for the construction for the Giga Bay in Starbase.

History[]

Ship assembly previously occurred in the Mid Bay, while the High Bay was used for crudely stacking boosters. Once Mega Bay 1 became fully operational, booster manufacturing moved there and ship manufacturing transferred to the Mega Bay 2. [expand]
